Moda All-Stars 'Mix It Up' Blog Hop

HI Folks!  Welcome to day 3 of the ‘Mix It Up’ blog/social media hop!

Martingale & Lissa Alexander (of Moda Fabrics) have compiled another wonderful (& fun!) book that features sixteen designers - sixteen quilts - & all the fun that you can have with Carrie Nelson’s (Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.) incredible Cake Mix & Cupcake Mix Papers! Now, I’m not one that jumps on every notion bandwagon that comes along… but I LOVE using papers for making half-square triangles - & Carrie has taken in to the next level by putting together papers that you can use with either Layer Cakes (10 “ squares) or Charm Packs (5” squares)  & that provide seemingly countless options for quilt blocks. Then - you add the ‘Mix It Up’ book - filled with more ideas & quilts you can make using these papers & you’ve got an amazing source for quilts to make for yourself - or for the perfect gift… (& you’ll have so much fun in the process!)I am so happy to be one of the designers asked to design a quilt for ‘Mix It Up’, & I had a ball in the process!  My quilt is called ‘Rosebud Pinwheels’, & uses the smaller Cupcake Mix papers, a few charm packs & some background fabric. As a part of this fun blog/social media hop, We’re also doing a giveaway!  How would you like a chance to win not only this amazing, fun book, but also 2 layer cakes (including my upcoming Bramble Cottage & some Bella Solids) and some cake mix papers!

I feel so blessed to be a part of this fun… so to enter, simply leave a comment with what you are most thankful for as we enter this holiday season. The winner will be announced on Saturday morning, November 9. (… & don’t forget to come back to see if you’ve won!)

Below you can find the listing (either Instagram or website) of all the other designers who are participating in the ‘Mix It Up’ hop - so be sure to visit them for more fun & chances to win more prizes!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I have so much to be grateful for, that it’s hard to pinpoint one thing. I guess loving someone and being loved is at the top of my list.
Thank you for the opportunity to win this wonderful book and goodies.

I’m thankful that I live around the corner from my parents so that I can help them in anyway, now that they’re getting older. They’ve helped me and my family when I had breast cancer years ago. Family is everything!

I am thankful for each day. This year our Thanksgiving holiday will include all of our children and grandchildren. It is difficult to accomplish this annually.

Wow, even in bad times, what do we have to not be thankful for: freedom, ability to buy & have fabric, family & friends – not necessarily in that order.

While I count my blessings daily, and I have many to count, I am most grateful for my wonderful, loving family and our faith in our Lord and Savior.

I have so many blessings in my life that it is sometime difficult to focus on just one thing. First of all, I am thankful for God and his promises. I am thankful for good health because I have spent a lot of time at the hospital recently with my husband and now my mother. I’m thankful for family and friends.

There is so much to be thankful for, and today I am thankful for the natural beauty of our country. Every region of our country has natural beauty, from beaches to mountains, trees, wildflowers. Rugged landscapes, where people have scraped out lives to tranquil, meditative places. Truly we are very fortunate.

p.s. I love the colors that you create your beautiful quilts with – they are so soothing and remind me of my childhood. I am planning on making a quilt with your fabrics next spring – a nice, summery quilt.

Susan Kerkendall November 07, 2019

The only time I made the rosebud block was probably thirty years ago in a quilt that I gave to “The Breast Cancer Project” here in Canada. Little did I know that I would be diagnosed with Breast Cancer this year. However, I have done all of the operations and lucked out and don’t have to have chemo or radiation. Yay! I love the soft colors of this quilt which are quite out of my comfort zone. Thanks for being so generous.

Fauntie Phillips November 07, 2019
